Those who frequent my personal LJ (star_in_my_soup) already know that I have had a brand new epic AU fic in the works for about two months or so. The first chapter is already completed, but because I will be taking it slow and doing some heavy editing with this fic (and running it by at least two beta readers before every chapter release), I thought I would post a basic summary and a preview for those who are curious.

Well, I just posted chapter five of Head Over Heels, my OshiGaku fic, over at ff.net! Which means... I'm only halfway done with it. Lol. Oh well, I can at least promise that the story is about to get to the good part. ♥ Up until now, I've just been dealing with all the angst of Hyoutei losing to Seigaku during the Kantou Tournament. Now that the angst is over, though...

It's time for the slashy stuff! *cheers* xDDD

Actually, that's a pretty standard set-up for my fanfics. I usually delve into all the angst first, and then I pair everybody up afterwards. It's usually easier to pair people up and keep them in character, at least in my experience, if there is some build-up to it first. And I just happen to like using angst for that, so that's the formula I usually come up with...

Something goes wrong ---> Angst ---> Self-reflection ---> Realizing one's feelings ---> Confession ---> Fluffy, slashy, happy ending!

So, yes, in fact, Head Over Heels DOES have a happy ending planned for it. I've never written a fic with a completely depressing ending, actually, and I don't think I ever will... I did write a Weiss Kreuz fic once that was pretty bittersweet at the end. (The sequel was going to be happy, but I never got around to writing it. xD It's just as well; it wasn't that good.) Still, as a general rule, I don't do tragic endings. I personally prefer reading fics where all the characters are happy at the end, so I try to go by that principle as much as I can when I write. *is a sap*

Obviously, according to my little formula, I still have a lot to do in the second half of my OshiGaku fic. But it's going to be a LOT of fun to write (and hopefully to read)! In fact, I'll tell my readers here a little secret... The fun part comes when they all go to Atobe's "summer cottage" to train! Does anyone remember that part from the anime??? xDDD Well, that's the part I'm going to be covering! It's going to be soooo much fun... I already have the funniest ideas for it. ♥ Anyway, that's going to be announced in the next chapter. *nods*

Well, this post was pretty pointless, but I realized I hadn't posted in about a month, so I thought I'd go ahead and ramble anyway. ^^; Oh, and if anyone reading this left a review for Head Over Heels, I just want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH! I was kind of worried about posting such a long fic centered around just one pairing. Especially because the pairing is OshiGaku, which isn't nearly as popular as some pairings out there. So it's been really nice to find out that people are enjoying it. ♥ Thanks, everyone!

This is a shorter update, mostly to comment on my new multi-chapter fanfic "Head Over Heels," which can now be read at fanfiction.net: [link]

It's an OshiGaku fanfic, which means I finally get to write about the Hyoutei Regulars! XD I have to say that I'm excited about that, because I love Hyoutei just as much as I love Seigaku. This fic is also about a doubles pair that's very different from, say, the Golden Pair, so I'm doubly excited about it.

Anyway, I hope any potential readers out there enjoy "Head Over Heels." I'm a bit anxious to see if it's as fun to read as it was to write. ^^; As for chapter two, it will be up within a few days. The first chapter is written from Gakuto's perspective, so the second one is from Yuushi's point of view.

Well, here's my first fanfic log, where I will describe my progress on larger fanfics and post tiny snippets of stuff that might eventually end up in the fics themselves. In case any of my readers are either: 1) incredibly bored, or 2) curious about my creative thought process. XD

As some of my friends may already know, I'm currently torn between two HUGE ideas for multi-chapter fanfics. One is the sequel to WICBY, and the other is an entirely different PoT project called "A Liaison with the Gods." It's kind of this grand, sweeping, dramatic view of events that already happened in the series, and it's heavily centered around three characters: Tezuka, Ryoma, and Atobe.

Those who read "When I Come Back to You" will find it pretty familiar, in that it uses several comparisions of characters to mythological beings that were also used repeatedly in WICBY. What's different is that it centers on both Seigaku and Hyoutei along with Rikkai, and it uses those metaphors in the context of the show instead. It also follows the manga and/or OVA storyline, in that Ryoma plays in the Nationals with Seigaku as opposed to staying in America like the anime ending implied. The pairings are also different, though as to what they are, I'm not going to say until after I start posting it.

To that end, I've been trying to keep up with manga spoilers and the OVA episodes and find ways to make the events fit with my story. So here's a tiny sample of the kind of thing that would be in 'Liaison,' and I should warn you... There are definite SPOILERS for the manga during the Nationals arc. I wrote this right after reading manga chapter 305, a chapter that will live in infamy for many Atobe fans I know. ^^; It's written from Tezuka's point of view.
